Direct Licensing Policy
Stev Cintury — sound recordings
1. About this policy
This is the Direct Licensing Policy of Stev Cintury (the “Licensor”), who owns or controls the copyright in the sound recordings released under the Stev Cintury name and any other label names notified to PPCA from time to time (the “Repertoire”).
It sets out how the Licensor deals with rights in the Repertoire, and how a person can obtain a direct licence. It is published in accordance with the Licensor’s obligations as a licensor to PPCA.
2. PPCA licence
The Licensor has granted PPCA a non-exclusive licence to licence the public performance, broadcast and communication of the Repertoire in Australia, on the terms of the PPCA Input Agreement between the Licensor and PPCA.
That licence is non-exclusive. It does not restrict the Licensor’s right to licence the Repertoire directly, and it does not cover uses that fall outside PPCA’s licence (for example, synchronisation of a recording with moving images).
3. Rights the Licensor licenses directly
The Licensor reserves, and licenses directly, all rights in the Repertoire that are not covered by the PPCA licence, including in particular:
- synchronisation — using a recording in a film, television program, advertisement, video, game or any other audiovisual production;
- use of a recording in a podcast, online video or other on-demand audiovisual or digital product, to the extent it is a synchronisation;
- sampling, remixing, adaptation or other uses requiring a separate licence;
- any use outside Australia, or any use within Australia that PPCA does not licence.
4. How to obtain a direct licence
Requests for a direct licence should be made in writing to hello@stevcintury.com, and should include: who is requesting, the recording(s) to be used, the intended use, the media and territory, and the period of use.
The Licensor will respond with the terms and the applicable fee. Fees and terms are set independently by the Licensor.
5. No coordination with other licensors
Fees, terms and conditions offered under this policy are determined by the Licensor alone. The Licensor does not coordinate, agree or arrange with any other licensor, or with PPCA, the fees or terms on which direct licences are granted, or any matter relating to a direct licence.
6. Changes to the Repertoire and to this policy
The Licensor will notify PPCA of any changes to the labels it owns or controls. The Licensor may update this policy from time to time; the current version is the one published on this page.
Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any right the Licensor has under the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth) or at law.
